The Problem

Change has changed, and it's outpacing your team.

Change used to be periodic — a start, an end, time to recover. Now it's constant and never settles. And when change hits, the brain defaults to autopilot: narrowed thinking, reverting to what's familiar exactly when it stops working.

Ungovernable

how Gartner describes change today: more frequent, complex, and faster-paced

79%

of employees have low trust in change

Only 32%

of leaders get their teams to adopt change in a healthy way

The solution

Mind Skills build adaptability.

Q Studio’s Mind Skills Program™ trains the way teams think, feel, and act when change hits — catching autopilot patterns and choosing a deliberate response instead.

Adaptability isn't a personality trait some people are born with. It's a skill, we train across three dimensions:

01

Think flexibly

Shift approach when the old way stops fitting, instead of forcing what used to work.

02

Stay steady

Let emotions inform decisions, not drive them, when plans get pulled out from under you.

03

Act with intent

Move on your best judgment under uncertainty rather than freezing or waiting to be told.

Think flexibly
Our approach

Start with a number: The Adaptability Quotient.

You can't build what you can't see. The Adaptability Quotient (AQ) is Q Studio’s proprietary measure of how well a person adapts when change hits.

It shows each person which dimension gives way first under real pressure — and that becomes their starting point, the one area where building the skill has the most impact.

Three dimensions scored

Think, Feel, Act — so adaptability stops being vague and becomes specific.

Three bands

Emerging → Developing → Fluent — a clear read on where each person stands, and where they're headed.

Individual and team views

Every person sees their own focus area; and where the team is collectively strong and where change is hitting hardest.

“Be more adaptable” is an expectation. An AQ score guides the plan to get there.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Isn't adaptability just a personality trait?

No — that's the misconception. Adaptability is a skill built across how people think, feel, and act when change hits. The Adaptability Quotient measures it, and the program builds it.

What is the AQ?

The Adaptability Quotient — Q Studio's proprietary measure of how well someone adapts to change, scored across the three dimensions of Think, Feel, and Act, so each person knows exactly where to focus.

How much time does it take?

The program runs for 12-weeks and is built into the workday. Each person starts with their AQ, then builds the skill through cohort workshops and a few minutes of daily practice on the MyQStudio app.

Why train the whole team instead of providing to individuals?

Organizational changes hit teams, not just individuals. Building adaptability together means the whole team moves through the change as one, sharing a common language and approach integrated into ways of working.

How do we measure impact?

Progress is tracked against each person's AQ and across the team, measured against Q Studio’s eight success metrics tied to performance and productivity.

Can we extend it beyond this team?

Yes. Mind Skills Programs run across every level — managers, leaders, and new entrants — so your whole organization can share one approach to navigating change.
